Last night on Khloe & Lamar, there was a whole ‘lotta representin’ happening from our favourite female Kardashian-Khloe. Since the NBC lockout was still going strong in November, Lamar’s agent heard from a basketball team in Istanbul,Turkey that they wanted Lamar to play for them. Considering Lamar was itching to play the game that brought him fame, he was really considering leaving the country. However, when Khloe found out about this, she wasn’t as excited as a housewife should be.
Most of you probably don’t know, in 1915 the Ottoman Empire (Turkey) implemented the systematic killing of 1.5 million Armenians. Considering how small the Armenian population was, that is a huge number. Basically, it was like the Holocaust, however most people today have no idea this happened to the Armenian people. The Turkish government refuses to acknowledge the killings and deny the Ottoman Empire ever had a plan to essentially eliminate the Armenian race from the world.
Khloe felt it wasn’t right for her husband to be playing for a country that has such a deep history with her heritage, her father Robert Kardashian raised their family to be proud of their Armenian culture.
As she gathers different opinions from her family, she realizes whether she likes it or not, her and her sisters are a huge figure in the media for the Armenian people. There would be a lot of backlash if Khloe was to move to Turkey and resume a life there. Ultimately, she decided to be upfront with Lamar and tell him what her feelings were about him playing there. Lamar doesn’t really make a decision, but not longer after his offer, the NBA came to an agreement and the lockout was over.
Meanwhile, Jamie (useless Jamie) has an amazing idea of becoming an actor. He soon realizes it’s not really who you know or what connections you have, if you suck at acting, you suck at acting. Wow, we didn’t see that one coming!
Next week, the lockout might be over, but that only means Lamar will barely get to wear his Lakers jersey.
