GAME OF THRONES SEASON 7 TEASER!

We’re calling this a teaser because there is no footage what so ever from the upcoming 7th season but that doesn’t mean we didn’t have chills watching this teaser. In 90 seconds they basically sum up all the biggest moments of the show leading up to this new season. You hear a lot of angry Khaleesi in there and you know it’s about to be her season. But, as we all know Winter is here, and that means there’s a bigger battle to be fought. I can’t believe we have to wait until July for this!!

GAME OF THRONES: SEASON FINALE RECAP!

Last night was the season six finale of Game of Thrones titled “Winds of Winter”, and a long with winter came a boat load (pun intended) of other things.

Seriously, best season finale ever, probably one of the best episodes the entire series has ever had. How they fit all of this into that, we’ll never know, just watch the episode, please. And then listen to our recap below.

What was your favourite part of the episode?

What did you guys think?

GAME OF THRONES RECAP: ‘NO ONE’

Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones titled ‘No One’ might have been their weakest episode of the season, but with our sights set on episode nine and ten, we reflect on how the writers have set up all these different story lines, and how they’ll unfold by the end of the season.

Listen to our podcast recap below and let us know what you think!

Here’s What Might Happen to Arya

Since Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones ‘The Broken Man’ there’s been talk about two major events. Spoiler alert: Sandor Clegane is back and alive, and he’s gonna get his kill bill on…we don’t know who is first on his list but here’s to hoping its Cersei? The other spoiler ironically goes to the person that left him for dead – Arya Stark. Arya had left the house of Black and White and is on her way out of Braavos and trying to by passage on a ship. She takes a stroll through the town one last time and is approached by a cute little old lady. Only this lady ain’t so cute and definitely not old and is actually the Whaif in disguise. She stabs Arya a few times and really jabs the knife into Arya’s stomach, Arya manages to break free and tosses herself into the water below. The Whaif seeing the bloody water decides Arya’s dead and walks away smiling.

arya-stabbed

But then Arya breaks through the water’s surface and she’s alive! But badly injured and since she has nowhere else to go she walks through the bazaar clutching her bloody stomach starring at everyone’s faces and hoping the Whaif isn’t one of them to finish her off.

So that’s where we leave off with Arya, BUT the previews from episode 8 do show Arya jumping off a building and in the description it says ‘Arya is not alone’. Either way people, she’s alive. Our girls going to be okay. But while we wait to see what actually happens, let’s dive into the many theories of Arya Stark.

Theory #1 – Jaqen H’ghar

I mean the dude has an apostrophe in his name so you really don’t know what to expect from him. With those baby blue eyes, he’s like the Justin Bobby of Game of Thrones, one minute he’s evil and breaking your heart, and the other minute he’s scooping you up on his motorcycle and saving you from a really bad Brandy recording session. I still believe Jaqen H’ghar will come through for Arya, I don’t believe that he’s going to let her die after everything they’ve been through. I think the Whaif is pure evil and I’ll be completely surprised if Jaqen let’s that bi*** survive. You know, I just never saw Jaqen as a villain, as someone who would quickly turn his back on our girl, but I mean she did mess up a few times so maybe he’s done with her.

Theory #2- Arya Wasn’t Really Arya

People everywhere are going cray because let’s face it Arya > Sansa and everybody is freaking out right now. It’s hard for me to believe Arya would be walking around town and not having her eyes out for the Whaif. She knows she’s on Jaqens hit list now. Some people are saying that Arya could’ve been using one of the faces, so the person the Whaif stabbed wasn’t really Arya. But here’s what doesn’t make sense with this theory. If she really was using someone else’s face I think the writers would’ve went hard and then just killed fake Arya, maybe finished the episode with the shot of the bloody water. Why not use that Ace card if you can totally bring her back? (Maybe because this show isn’t as lame as The Walking Dead and Glenn doesn’t fake die 30 times) So there’s that, but also I think within her story, the stabbing adds a different type of struggle, we’ve never seen Arya this badly hurt, she’s always been able to count on herself but now she’ll have to find someone to help her out. (I find this theme resonates with the rest of her siblings as Bran was rescued by Benjen and Sansa connected with Jon.) It’s come to a point in all the Starks’ journeys where they can no longer make it on their own, they’re going to need outside help, and I think if you see the importance of that, then this theory might not add up.

Theory #3- She’ll Be Saved By the Play Actors

So I didn’t realize this until an interview with DB/DW that the play within a play scenes in Braavos are actually really important. I just figured it was a satirical way of looking at the events of the show and Arya happens to have to kill fake Cersei. But seeing how Arya stopped fake Cersei from dying, she might be the only person in Braavos that might actually want to help Arya and have the means to do it. Also how beautiful the irony would be that in the end fake Cersei ends up being the one to save Arya. It definitely is a believable theory, just look at Jon and his wildling friends. He decided to save them how many seasons back and they still stand behind him now. It just goes to show that any good deed isn’t forgotten in GGRM’s world, you just might have to wait a LONG time before you get something good.

Theory #4 – Syrio Forel

So fans everywhere are losing their sh** because last week we saw Sandor Clegane return from the dead, well he wasn’t really dead, he just never ended up dying. Which is also important to remember that it’s really, really hard to kill a Clegane brother. Now, people are believing in the power of ‘I need to see it to believe it’ which basically means we never saw Arya’s trainer Syrio Forel (who was from Braavos) actually die. We just heard clanging of swords from him and the night’s guard and we just assumed he was dead. I mean the dude was literally holding a wooden stick and was up against like 3 guards in full armour. In my opinion, I think he is dead, but again we didn’t see it happen so we don’t know. But that connection could still be there in Braavos, she could run into his wife or kid or something, but I just don’t know how they would know who she is / how she would know who they are. As I mentioned the description for episode 8 says something about ‘Arya is not alone’ and for some reason every time I say that in my head I hear Syrio’s voice, so maybe.

Theory #5 – Samwell Tarly

That is all I’m going to say about that.

Whatever happens, or whoever happens I think Arya will definitely make it through. I can’t imagine the writers killing her off now, there’s just so much more we expect from her. I’m still waiting on the day she meets Khaleesi. That will be like my Drake showing up on stage at a Rihanna concert, which did happen and I did see it, so Arya, get to werk.

GAME OF THRONES: RECAP ‘THE BROKEN MAN’

A lot of Game of Thrones fans were disappointed with this week’s episode titled, ‘The Broken Man’ mostly because it did seem like a filler episode that basically spent the hour setting everything up for the remainder of the season. Having said that, there were still so many good moments throughout the hour – and one very special appearance from someone who we assumed was left for dead. Also Lady Olenna absolutely demolished Cersei with the greatest monologue of all time. OF ALL TIME!

No Spoilers here – but listen to our recap podcast and join the discussion!

Game of Thrones: 10 Moments You Never Saw Coming

If you’re a Game of Thrones junkie like myself, you’re probably dealing with a mild case of anxiety at the fact that we’re already coming up on episode 7 of season 6!! Where did the season go? Where is the season going? And most importantly, when is the hookup between Tormund and Brienne going to happen?

In my junkie opinion, I think this is the best season of Thrones to date. Since the season opener, each episode has brought us uber jaw dropping moments. Yes, even last week’s episode ‘Blood of My Blood’ had its ‘omg no waaaaaaay’ moment with the return of Benjen Stark. But some moments were more predictable than others.  Like the return of Jon Snow, realistically we all knew this was going to happen it was just a matter of when it was going to happen. Or even psychotic Ramsay killing his father Roose, come on you had to know that was going to happen. Still, for every moment that we sort of maybe knew what was going to happen, there were moments and scenes that were utterly jaw dropping, spine chilling, and totally caught us off guard.

Here are the top 10 moments we never saw coming (mind you the season isn’t over):

10. Greyjoys forced out of the Iron Island:

I have to say thank you to Theon for saving our Sansa and helping her escape from Ramsay, and I also understand why he had to leave for home right away. Then seeing him arrive at the Iron Islands and then hearing him vouch for his sister as Queen made me forget all the bad things he’s done. I always figured him and his sister would rule the Iron Islands together and assist Sansa/a Stark in whatever they may need in the future. It was a huge curve ball to see Theon and his sister fleeing their home on their boats heading to what I hope is somewhere close to Khaleesi. The Greyjoy and Khaleesi connection would be insanely cool, obviously girl power, but it’s something that I never, ever thought could happen.

9. Tormund the Wildling and Brienne of Tarth:

But really how cute are they? I know everyone has been going wild for the wildling and his future bae, but is this an actual storyline? Or is it all just to have a little fun with the viewers? Seriously, I’m hoping she legit falls in love with Tormund and they rule the wilding crew together, which yeah would be pretty friggin’ awesome and something completely out of left field. Also, Tormund is pretty much the hottest character on the show, I’ve been calling him a lumbersexual since he graced my screen, so good for your Brienne, get it.

madking-gameofthrones

8. Mad King sighting:

The Mad King sighting in Bran’s vision was something I never expected to see. But with all these cool flashbacks this season, we’re getting a brief glimpse into the history of Westeros. As a book reader I always tried to picture what the Mad King and Rhaegar Targaryen looked like, so I was super excited about that. I’m still waiting to see Rhaegar and Lyanna.

7. Bran’s Power:

Going into season six we knew Bran was going to play a big role, we knew that he would eventually be the three eyed raven, but we didn’t really know what that meant. And even though we still don’t know the extent of his power, we do know that he has the ability to change/rewrite the past to affect the future. I expected Bran to play a big role, but I definitely didn’t expect this much to happen with him, and I definitely didn’t see him having the power to rewrite the past! Very cool.

beyonce-lemonade-sansastark

6. Sansa taking a sip of that Lemonade:

Nobody really knew what was to come of Sansa this season. We didn’t even know if her and Theon would survive that jump from the Winterfell walls. So to see her in this boss ass bi*** role, takin’ a sip of Beyonce’s Lemonade, she’s all sassed out and ready to rule. Plus the scene with Brienne pledging her sword to Sansa was so damn beautiful.  I definitely didn’t see this coming, especially this quickly.

5. Dying direwolves:

It’s always sad to see your favourite characters get axed on Thrones but to see the Stark direwolves get slaughtered is even more heartbreaking. First Rickon’s wolf gets beheaded and given to Ramsay, and then Bran’s Summer jumps into a mosh pit of wights and basically kills herself. What was she thinking? Ugh so loyal. But now we’re left with Jon’s Ghost and Arya’s Nymeria wherever she is. I put this in at number 5 because I think the fate of these wolves might sync with the fate of their owners.

4. Khaleesi and the Khalasar:

So with Khaleesi it’s a little different, because she’s always been a fan favourite, like Jon Snow. Everyone knew Jon Snow was going to come back, it’s just a matter of when and how. Same with Khaleesi, we were left with her being surrounded by the Khalasar at the end of last season without her dragons. And as a diehard Khaleesi fan I was okay with seeing her have to brave it out without her advisors or dragons. She was on her own for this one, and I knew obviously that she would find her way out. I just didn’t think she would legit burn her way out by murdering all the Khal’s, and then basically convincing the entire tribe to join her in taking over Westeros. I mean we’re only six episodes deep and there have already been these amazing, powerful scenes. Khaleesi and the Vaes Dothrak scene with the fire is probably top ten greatest moments of ALL TIME. There was just so much power and so much awe by the khalasar, and even us the viewers, I don’t think anyone expected it to happen at that magnitude. And more so, you’re like what can possibly top that?

sansa stark,jon snow,winterfell,game of thrones

3. Jon Snow / Sansa reunion:

This entire show you’re literally waiting for your favourite characters to line up. For them to finally meet in the middle and have their epic journeys intersect. Getting to see the Jon Snow/Sansa reunion right after Jon Snow just came back from the dead, was the greatest gift from God aka David Benioff and D.B Weiss. Jaw dropping, spine chilling, heartwarming, a tear jerking moment that we’ve waiting years for. And it really wasn’t expected, yes they were both in the North, but where last season ended off, I don’t think anyone could’ve predicted this reunion to happen.

benjenstark-coldhands-gameofthrones

2. Benjen Stark as Coldhands:

So I got a lot of feedback from people who said they didn’t really enjoy last week’s ‘Blood of My Blood’ episode. Because, yeah in comparison to the rest of the season it wasn’t as turnt up, maybe because of King’s Landing? (Side note: I literally avoided the entire King’s Landing story in this post because honestly who cares about the high sparrow) Anyways, something major did happen in episode six and hello his name is Benjen Stark. Remember Ned Stark’s brother from the Night’s Watch who went missing right around the time Jon Snow joined the night’s watch? Benjen was the reason why Jon joined in the first place. Anywho, I never wrote Benjen off, we all should’ve expected him to be lurking at some point during this storyline, and sure enough he comes to Bran’s aid right at the last second. There’s always a twist, and when the show revealed that it was Benjen under the cloak, we also find out that he isn’t full human. He was left for dead by the white walkers, and then the children of God brought him back to life by sort of making him into a white walker. So now he’s stuck in this middle form of a human/white walker and apparently there was a character in the book called Coldhands, so people are assuming those two characters have now been meshed together. Don’t know what that really entails, but I’m excited to find out.

1. Hodor – ‘Hold the Door’:

We always figured his name must mean something, there has to be a reason why all he can pronounce is ‘Hodor’ but what we didn’t know was that his name actually meant something else, something much more powerful and something that would save Bran and Meera’s life. The moment when Meera calls out to Hodor to hold the door, I had chills and it just clicked that his name really meant hold the door. What was even more powerful was that Bran had caused this all, and Hodor’s fate had been written all those years ago in Winterfell. Probably one of the most beautiful moments of the entire series thus far, I’m pretty sure everyone was bawling their eyes out when Hodor sacrificed himself to save his friends. Ugh.

So you see now, there hasn’t been one dull moment this season, each episode has been filled with excitement (minus King’s Landing) and I can guarantee you it’s not going to slow down. There are still a few predictions I have for this season, things that I think will completely shift the show.

Battle at Riverrun: So there’s a few main characters that are headed to intersect at this small castle, Jamie is headed that way, so is Brienne, but they will be on opposing sides. Does this call for a battle scene? Mini battle scene? Mini battle scene Brienne and Jamie? I think the biggest battle scene of the season might go to Jon Snow and Ramsay, so they may hold off on Riverrun for now, but it still might lead to Jamie’s demise, which would then put Cersei in the most vulnerable position because literally she has nobody else. Her son literally just became the son of a preacher man. So boy bye.

Cersei’s trial by combat: I think is going to be one of the biggest moments of the season. She’s already told Jamie that she’s going to use the mountain and it just seems rather lucky that once again he’s in the battle circle. Maybe this time his luck will run out if he’s up against a certain family member of his who we really don’t know died or not?

Tower of Joy scene: I’m still crossing my fingers hoping we get to see this scene that almost happened in Bran’s flashbacks. Obviously this scene would be huge, we would get to see Lyanna, dead or alive, and hopefully solve this whole R+L=J  equation.

What do you guys think? Are there any other moments that were shocking to you?

GAME OF THRONES: RECAP ‘THE DOOR’

This week’s episode of Game of Thrones delivered arguably the saddest moment of the season yet. I won’t get into details here, but listen to our podcast as we recap and analyze episode 5 titled ‘The Door’. Hint: It has something to do with Hodor.

TOP 10: GoT Season 6 What We’re Excited For

So we’ve had a few Game of Thrones teasers drop in the past week, can you guys believe it’s almost that time again? Instead of breaking down what we see or don’t see in the promos, let’s just go over what we’re really excited about this season.

The writers left off with our main characters turning a corner in their individual arcs and pointing them in a direction that will probably send them to the finale of the series. Having said that, GOT fans claim every season will top the last, but this one, I think, will have the biggest changes. Or maybe it won’t, I’m not a writer on the show but I really wish I was.

10. Where have all the dire wolves gone?

jonsnow-direwolf

Not that I’m a crazy dog lover or anything, but seriously, where are all the damn dire wolves? I feel like a huge symbol of the Stark family rising back up will be the return of the animal(s), we know Arya’s wolf is still out there, maybe Sansa will run into it since she’s all up on the North side. Then it’ll be like a part of her sister is always with her, or not. Because really nothing good ever happens to the Starks.

9. Where did the zombies go?

whitewalkers-got

The last time we saw all the white walkers they were full out zombie status at Hardhome, and Jon Snow and his crew barely made it out. That gave the zombies enough time to head to Georgia and fake kill Glenn. Ha. We haven’t seen the last of them, not that I’m particularly excited to see them again, I just have this deep dark feeling they’re going to f*** sh** up.

8. More wine nights with Khaleesi and Tyrion

Khaleesi-Tyrion-Olivia

Seriously though, how amazing was that conversation between Khaleesi and Tyrion. Now that the two are ‘friends’ I’m hoping to see them have more deep conversations with Olivia Pope sized wine glasses. But first, let’s bring Khaleesi home!

7. Gendry, we know you’re still out there!

got-gendry

I feel like as quickly as I remember Gendry, I quickly forget about him. But let’s not forget, technically, he is King of the seven kingdoms right now. But beyond that, I’m hoping he’s going to play some type of role this season. Last time we saw him, Davos was pushing him away into the water in the middle of the night. Maybe he’s Arya’s true soulmate and they can run the kingdom together, but again, nothing ever good happens to the Starks. I got my eye on you Gendry, even if Arya doesn’t. (Because she can’t see anymore – see what I did there?)

6. Cersei, on a scale of 1 to 10 how mad are you?

got-cersei

But really Cersei, really, how mad are you? I cannot wait for this scene to go down when Jamie Lannister has to tell his baby mama aka his sister, that their daughter is dead. She died on the way home after being sent to a very pretty resort type of living arrangement in Dorne. That last scene with Jamie and his daughter, and how she really knew the story of her mother and him, it was beautiful. But bye Felicia, your momma has done too many horrible things for you to survive this. And another thing, you know that Amber Rose slut walk Cersei Lannister shame walk, did not even phase Cersei. But the news about her daughter is definitely going to break her. But on a scale of 1 to 10…how mad are you Cersei? (Side note: Amber Rose > Kanye)

5. Will Brienne finally accomplish one thing on her checklist? AkA Sansa.

brienneoftarth-got

We all love Brienne, yay, girl power, feminism, cool. But real talk this girl has done nothing since the show has started, I mean she’s done a lot, she’s literally been moving all around the Game of Thrones world map looking for someone, or trying to protect someone she’s looking for. She’s on a mission but she never really completes the mission. Or like she completes the mission but Jamie’s hand is missing so it doesn’t really count. Anyways, we love Brienne, and I’m wondering if her week-long spy session on Winterfell will actually amount to anything. Is she going to save Sansa? Like maybe she needed to fail 300 missions to finally complete 1 and that’s to save Sansa. Again, girl power.

4. Has Arya reached Uma Thurman Kill Bill Status?

94dd15576ca3b935f1a52b2351b033a2bae61b81cb46530022df3300b696870b

Arya’s storyline last season was amazing. She was so Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, but she was also a little rebel. As her punishment she loses her vision, and I’m wondering if that’s going to last forever or are they going to let her prove herself and then give her vision back? Maybe she’ll never get to see again, but maybe she won’t need to if her dire wolf has 20/20. Love the dogs, but don’t think her story is going that way. Either way, I’m super excited for her story. I really just want her to meet Khaleesi.

3. Khaleesi and the pickle.

khaleesi kidnapped, khaleesi and drogon, dragon names game of thrones, jon snow dead

This girl is in a pickle. She literally has her hand in the pickle jar, she’s totally f*****, I don’t know how she’s going to get herself out of the pickle jar. Her dragons wish they could eat a pickle, but there’s no food around and so they’re so weak, they can’t save their momma. Khaleesi is surrounded by the Dothraki, this is how we left her last season. I mean I’m not worried about her safety. I don’t think they would kill the mother of dragons (by they I mean the writers) But they might be okay with killing one of her dragons, aka proving the point that she might not be as invincible as she thinks. Is this a possibility? CAN this happen? Should we be worried? These are all very important questions.

2. How much progress has Bran made? / Is he a dragon yet?

stark-superman

This one might be a little surprising for some fans, but really I’m legitimately worried/curious about Bran. I feel like even though we haven’t seen him in a season he’s done a lot of work in the background or more literally, underground in that cave thingy. I’m hoping that he might, or maybe he already is able to warg himself into Khaleesi’s dragons. Because you know, one of her dragons was missing for quite some time, so maybe he was roaming around the North and Bran was able to find a signal. Who knows, but it might make sense right? Like I’m not crazy for thinking that? Is that too ambitious for us to assume Bran has done that much work while he was away in season 5? I wouldn’t put it past this kid, he’s been making very smart decisions that even adults wouldn’t be able to make. Let’s not forget how noble he was in season 4 when he made the decision not to call out Jon’s name. Moving on.

1. WTF happened to Jon Snow?

jon-snow-dead

Alright, here we are. We know that Jon snow isn’t dead. But what is he? Where is he? When will we see him again? These are all questions we want answered, sooner rather than later. Not to say that we need Jon Snow back immediately, to be honest I’m a little over the entire Night’s Watch set, so I don’t mind if we don’t go back there for a while. But I still want to know wtf happens to him. Obviously the red woman Melisandre is going to play a big part in his ‘revenant-ing’ himself, can we use that word? I think everyone is excited to see and hear his beautiful voice again. Also, everyone’s like ‘see they didn’t kill him!’ And honestly, Melisandre, girl, just send us an email, or a Tweet, we just want to know that you’re working on him, and we’ll be good.

Did we miss anything? Is there something else you’re excited to see in the upcoming season? What you guys think of having a few flashbacks with Lyanna and Rhaegar?? I want to know more about those two lovebirds.

Game of Thrones: Game on!

The Eyrie

Just a friendly reminder that there’s no new episode of Game of Thrones this Sunday- new episodes will resume June 1 (we’re already on the 8th episode!!) Yikes, don’t kill the messenger. Do kill everyone on Arya’s wish list.

So last Sunday’s episode was brilliant, they’re all brilliant and special to watch but this episode was definitely one for the script writing books. The scene between Littlefinger and Sansa was amazing. When she walks out into the courtyard and there’s snow everywhere, suddenly it takes her back to Winterfell and she feels like a little girl again. Unfortunately, for her she’s not at Winterfell, pretty much her entire family is dead, and she has to live with the most annoying child ever. After her younger cousin smashes her snow castle, she smacks the boy up and it’s the closest we’ve seen Sansa become a more “Sassier Sansa”. We love it. Then, as the little boy runs off Littlefinger makes an entrance (how handsome did he look?) and he tells Sansa everything will be alright. She’s literally standing in front of the smartest man in the Game of Thrones realm (Khaleesi’s the smartest woman, duh).

He tells Sansa (paraphrasing), if the world was more about love than war and poltiics, she would probably be his daughter. Because he would’ve married her mother. But they don’t live in that world so it’s time to make out! He totally grabs Sansa and kisses her after telling her she’s more beautiful than her mother. Okay, this ish just got weird. He did kill Lysa later on so even though he might be vergring on pedophile status, we still think he’s the smartest man ever.

King’s Landing

This scene between Tyrion and the Prince of Dorne was my favourite of the night. Take a look.
