Yesterday was the opener of the Women’s FIFA World Cup in Berlin, Germany. The match was between Canada VS Germany…and Germany won 2-1. Although I wanted my fellow Canadians to win the opener, I have to admit it, Germany played a better game.
Check out Canada’s next game on June 30th against France.
Here’s some more information…
Canada’s top female football (soccer) players are set to march off to Germany for the 2011 FIFA Women’s Soccer World Cup. The team, which is made up of women from all over Canada, ages 19-33 is thoroughly prepared for this competitive tournament, that will hopefully gain more recognition globally. The FIFA Women’s Cup started in 1991 and has gained popularity more and more throughout the years.
This years tournament will run from June 26th-July 17th, with Canada and Germany opening it up with a game on Sunday June 26th in Berlin. I’ll be watching, and supporting our fellow Canadians to win the trophy.
